Q took everything people love about The Fix, shrunk the action down for the 300 Blackout cartridge, and then went a step further on this version by fitting a 16 inch PROOF Research carbon fiber tensioned barrel. The result is a bolt gun that feels more like a mountain rifle than a range toy. Carbon fiber wrapped barrels shed heat better than a comparable steel contour and cut a serious amount of weight up front, which you notice the second you shoulder it. The gray finish with dark gray accents gives it a clean, understated look that matches the rest of Q's lineup.
This is not a traditional chassis rifle. The Mini Fix is built around a rigid one piece aluminum receiver that houses the bolt, trigger, and barrel, so there is no bedding or chassis interface to fuss with. The 45 degree short throw bolt handle keeps your hand low and fast on the cycle, and the two stage trigger breaks clean enough for real precision work. Controls will feel familiar if you have spent time behind an AR. The safety selector, magazine release, and grip all sit right where you expect them, and it feeds from standard AR-15 pattern magazines. A free float Q-Sert handguard and a continuous zero MOA Picatinny top rail round out the package, along with an adjustable folding stock that shrinks the whole rifle down for packing.
The 300 Blackout cartridge and a bolt action are a natural pairing, especially with subsonic loads and a suppressor. With no gas system venting noise, this thing gets impressively quiet, and the Cherry Bomb muzzle brake on the tapered muzzle doubles as a mount for Q suppressors. Whether you are after hogs and whitetail at practical ranges, ringing steel with subs, or just want the lightest suppressor host in the safe, the Mini Fix 300BLK with the PROOF barrel is a hard combination to beat.
Yes. The Mini Fix uses a smaller receiver and bolt assembly than the full size Fix and feeds from standard AR-15/M4 pattern magazines. One 10-round AR-style magazine ships with the rifle, and you can run whatever capacity mags you already own.
The PROOF Research carbon fiber tensioned barrel is significantly lighter than a steel barrel of a similar contour and dissipates heat better, so it stays cooler through longer strings. That weight savings sits right where you feel it most, out front, making the rifle noticeably quicker handling. This Proof-equipped model also wears gray accents instead of the standard black.
It is one of the best. A bolt action has no gas system to vent noise, so paired with subsonic 300 Blackout loads and a good can it gets remarkably quiet. The included Cherry Bomb muzzle brake serves as a taper mount for Q suppressors, and the 5/8-24 threads accept most other muzzle devices and mounts.
Think of it as a lightweight do-it-all bolt gun. It shines for hog and deer hunting at practical distances, suppressed shooting with subs, and truck or blind duty where a folding stock and low weight matter. The two stage trigger and rigid one piece receiver give it real precision chops for its size too.
