It ships chambered in 6mm Creedmoor with a 20 inch length, 1-7.5 twist, and 5/8×24 threads already cut for your favorite muzzle device or suppressor. The barrel extension comes pre-installed and pre-headspaced, so once it's on your rifle you're chambering rounds, not chasing tolerances.
One of the reasons the Fix earned a following is that Q designed the whole rifle around quick barrel changes. The barrel threads into an extension that locks into the receiver with a jam nut and a set of T-25 Torx screws, similar in concept to how a Savage headspaces. With a barrel nut wrench (or the Q multi-tool), a vise, and a torque wrench, you can pull the factory barrel and have this 6CR prefit installed in the time it takes to watch a match highlight reel. That same setup means you can go back to your old barrel or try another chambering down the road without buying a new action.

Every Proof barrel starts as a match-grade 416R stainless steel blank that's drilled, rifled, and lapped in-house before it's turned down to a reduced profile. That trimmed-down core then gets wrapped in aerospace-grade carbon fiber using a helical process that pulls heat away from the bore faster than bare steel can manage on its own. The payoff is a barrel that can run up to 64 percent lighter than a comparable steel barrel of the same contour, while holding the same accuracy standard Proof barrels are known for at the top levels of competition.
This prefit barrel is built specifically for the Q Fix and its barrel extension system, so it won't drop into a Remington 700, Savage, or other bolt gun. If you own a Fix, though, it's a true drop-in fit.
No specialized gunsmithing is required since the barrel arrives chambered with the extension already headspaced. You will want a vise, a torque wrench, and a barrel nut wrench (Q sells a multi-tool for this) to swap it on correctly.
