Not necessarily. Because it's a pre-fit shouldered barrel, most people with a barrel vise, an action wrench, a torque wrench, and go/no-go gauges can install it at home. That said, checking headspace with proper gauges before firing is always a smart step even on a pre-headspaced barrel.
PXT changes the rifling's lead angle so the bullet engages the bore much more gradually instead of getting grabbed hard right at the throat.
