The ProMag REMA3 bumps your Remington 597 up to 55 rounds of .22 LR, so you spend more time punching paper or knocking down cans and less time thumbing rounds into stick mags. It drops right into the factory magazine well and locks in just like your original 597 magazine, no permanent mods needed.
The body is molded from tough polycarbonate designed to hold up to repeated loading and unloading without cracking or warping. Behind that smoke-tinted shell is a mag spring formed from chrome-silicone wire paired with an injection-molded follower, a combination ProMag uses across their drum line because it holds tension well over thousands of cycles. The translucent finish also lets you get a rough visual on how much ammo you've got left without popping the drum to check.
Instead of stacking rounds under spring pressure by hand, this drum uses an integral loading lever and tensioner built into the housing. You turn the wheel, drop a round into the feed tower, and let it release, one at a time, until you hit 55. It sounds slower than a stick mag at first but once you get the rhythm down it goes quick, and it takes a lot of the thumb strain out of topping off a high-capacity magazine.

This drum is built for the standard Remington 597 platform chambered in .22 LR and drops into the factory magazine well. It's designed to work with the 597 as it comes from the factory, so if your rifle has an aftermarket chassis or stock conversion, it's worth double checking magazine well dimensions before buying.
The REMA3 uses a built-in loading lever and tensioner instead of stacking rounds by hand. Loading one round at a time keeps each cartridge seated at the right angle for reliable feeding.
The translucent smoke color is part function, part style. It lets you get a general idea of your remaining round count by looking through the housing, on top of the internal round counter built into the drum.
