PPU teamed up with Sierra to bring you precision ammunition that doesn't demand a premium price. The Supreme line pairs PPU's reputation for quality brass and components with Sierra's legendary MatchKing bullets, creating ammo designed to compete. You get the same boat-tail hollow point design that has set national records in service rifle competition, paired with carefully selected brass casings, match-grade primers, and consistent powder charges.
Why the 69 grain MatchKing? The heavier bullet stands up better to wind than lighter alternatives, which matters when you're trying to hold tight groups downrange. At competition distances of 200 to 300 yards, this round performs exceptionally well. The hollow point boat-tail design minimizes drag and maximizes ballistic coefficient, so your bullet maintains velocity and energy longer than standard ammunition. You'll notice the precision in every shot, whether you're fine-tuning at 100 yards or stretching your accuracy at distance.
Sierra's MatchKing bullets have a proven track record in competitive shooting. The precision engineering you get with these rounds comes from Sierra's exacting tolerances on jacket concentricity, lead core consistency, and base design. PPU handles the rest with quality brass cases designed for reliable feeding and extraction, plus match-grade primers that ensure consistent ignition. This combination creates ammunition with the velocity consistency and accuracy you need to call your shots with confidence.
Each box contains 20 rounds, packaged for convenience and ready for your next shooting session. The brass casings are reloadable, which matters if you're serious about precision shooting. While MatchKing bullets are specifically engineered for competition and target work rather than hunting, they excel at what they're designed for: punching tight groups on paper and steel. If you run AR15s or bolt-action rifles in .223 Remington or 5.56 NATO, this ammo cycles reliably and delivers the accuracy that separates good sessions from great ones.
The Supreme line combines PPU's quality brass, primers, and powder with Sierra's competition-proven MatchKing bullets. You get match-grade consistency and accuracy at a price point that's more accessible than some premium brands. The Sierra MatchKing bullet has set more national records than any other rifle bullet, so you're getting proven competition performance.
Factory specifications show approximately 2850-2854 FPS from the 69 grain MatchKing load. Your actual velocity will vary slightly depending on barrel length, ambient temperature, and your specific rifle. The consistency of PPU's loading means you'll see tight velocity spreads round-to-round.
Absolutely. The PPU Supreme 223 chambers in both modern sporting rifles and traditional bolt-actions. It feeds reliably in AR-15s and delivers consistent accuracy across different rifle platforms, though individual guns always have their own preferences for specific loads.
Yes, the brass is high-quality and reloadable, which is one reason PPU ammunition appeals to serious precision shooters. The cases handle multiple reloading cycles well, making it economical if you handload your own ammunition for further cost savings.
