Big-bore power in a small-bore package is the whole idea behind the POF Revolution DI. Patriot Ordnance Factory built this .308 around AR-15 sized components, including the bolt carrier, charging handle, cam pin, buffer, and heat sink barrel nut, so the receivers stay the same footprint as a standard 5.56 gun. The result is a 7.62 NATO pistol that weighs right around 6.3 pounds and stretches just 29.5 inches overall. Pick one up next to a traditional AR-10 pattern gun and the difference is immediately obvious.
The 12.5-inch match-grade barrel is machined from 4150 CrMoV steel with deep fluting to shave weight and help shed heat, and the 1:10 twist stabilizes the full range of common .308 bullet weights. Up front, POF's triple-port muzzle brake takes real bite out of recoil, which matters on a short-barreled .308. The star of the show might be the 9-position Dictator adjustable gas block riding on a rifle-length gas tube. Running suppressed? Shooting light loads? Dial the gas to match and keep the gun running smooth instead of overgassed and snappy.
Both receivers are billet-machined aluminum with a clean black anodized finish, and the Gen 4 lower brings ambidextrous controls throughout, including the bolt release, magazine release, and safety selector. Lefties get a proper setup here, not an afterthought. The 11.5-inch Renegade M-LOK handguard gives you plenty of real estate for lights, lasers, and grips, plus QD sling mounting points where you want them.
It ships with a single 20-round Magpul PMAG and runs SR-25 pattern magazines, so feeding it is simple and affordable. Between the tunable gas system, the weight-saving barrel work, and controls that favor both hands, this is one of the most refined short .308 platforms on the market. POF backs it with a limited lifetime warranty, and there really isn't much left on this gun to upgrade out of the box.
It ships with one 20-round Magpul PMAG and feeds from SR-25 pattern magazines. That's the most common .308 AR magazine standard out there, so spares are easy to find and reasonably priced. Magpul LR/SR PMAGs in various capacities will run without any fuss.

That's exactly what the 9-position Dictator adjustable gas block is for. You can dial gas flow down to compensate for the added back pressure a can creates, keeping the action from running overgassed. The barrel is threaded, so swapping the factory triple-port brake for a suppressor mount is straightforward.
You give up some velocity compared to a 16 or 20 inch barrel, but a 12.5 inch .308 still delivers serious energy well past 400 yards with quality ammo. The 1:10 twist match-grade barrel stabilizes everything from 147 to 175 grain loads. For a compact platform, it hits far harder at distance than any short 5.56 ever will.
