Instead of the standard 16.5 inch barrel, you get a 13.75 inch tube with a Dead Air KeyMo muzzle brake pinned and welded to bring it to 16.1 inches overall. The result is a carbine that swings faster and packs shorter than a typical rifle-length build, and since that KeyMo mount is the same one Dead Air uses on its suppressors, you are already set up to run a can without swapping muzzle devices.
The barrel itself is 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel with a black nitride heat treatment, 5R rifling, and a 1:8 twist that stabilizes everything from light varmint loads to heavier 77 grain match ammo. POF runs a mid-length gas system with a nitrided low-profile gas block for a smoother recoil impulse, and the chamber features their patented E2 dual extraction cuts, which use a small amount of gas to help push cases out and take stress off the extractor. The bolt carrier group carries POF's roller cam pin, a small touch that cuts friction and keeps the upper receiver from getting chewed up over time.
The trigger is where this rifle really separates itself from rack-grade carbines. It is POF's single-stage straight drop-in unit with a clean 3.5 lb pull, held in place by KNS anti-walk pins. Controls are genuinely ambidextrous, from the safety selector to the Strike Eagle charging handle and the QD sling end plate, so left-handed folks are not an afterthought here. Furniture comes from Mission First Tactical with a Minimalist stock and Engage V2 grip, and the slim 13 inch Renegade M-LOK handguard uses POF's oversized heat sink barrel nut to pull heat away during longer strings.
The whole package wears a Patriot Brown Cerakote finish over billet aluminum receivers and ships with a 30-round Magpul PMAG. Mount an optic, sling up, and it is ready for the range or the field.
The Dead Air KeyMo brake is permanently pinned and welded to the barrel, bringing it to 16.1 inches overall.
