Instead of venting hot gas back into the action like a standard AR, the EDGE runs a short-stroke piston system with a 5-position adjustable gas plug. That keeps carbon and heat out of the receiver, so the rifle stays cleaner, runs cooler, and keeps cycling through long range days with less fuss at the cleaning bench. Dial the gas down for suppressed use or up for harsh conditions, and it just keeps working.
The 16.5-inch barrel is 4150 CrMoV steel with a black nitride heat treatment for wear and corrosion resistance, cut with 5R rifling in a 1:8 twist that stabilizes everything from light varmint loads to heavier 77 grain match bullets. A triple port muzzle brake up front tames muzzle rise and softens felt recoil for quicker follow-up shots. Inside the Gen4 billet lower sits POF's single-stage drop-in trigger with a smooth 4.5 lb pull, a genuine upgrade over the gritty mil-spec triggers most factory rifles ship with. The nickel-coated bolt carrier group features a roller cam pin to cut friction, and POF's patented E2 dual extraction technology uses small channels in the chamber to help push spent cases out, extending extractor life considerably.
The patented Modular Railed Receiver gives you a rigid, free-floated 14.5-inch handguard with full M-LOK compatibility, a continuous top rail, and four QD sling sockets, all at a slim 1.75 inches wide. Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the safety, bolt catch, magazine release, and charging handle, which lefties will appreciate and righties will find handy during awkward positional work. Mission First Tactical furniture rounds out the package with a Minimalist 6-position stock and ENGAGE V2 grip. At around 7 pounds, this is a rifle you can carry all day, whether that's a carbine course, a 3-gun match, or coyote patrol on the back forty. Sights are not included, so the flattop rail is ready for whatever optic suits your setup.

The 1:8 twist is a versatile middle ground that handles most common 5.56 and .223 loads well, from 55 grain plinking ammo up to 77 grain match bullets. It is chambered for 5.56 NATO, so it safely runs both 5.56 and .223 Rem. For best accuracy, try a few different weights and see what your particular barrel prefers.
It is one of the better factory options out there for lefties. The Gen4 billet lower includes a fully ambidextrous safety, bolt catch, and magazine release, plus an ambidextrous charging handle up top. Everything can be run from either side without reaching over the receiver.
