The nipples are stainless steel with a 6×3/4 thread pitch, which is the pattern Pietta uses across its 1851 Navy, 1858 Remington, 1860 Army and similar models. Six of them means you can outfit a full cylinder at once and still keep a spare or two tucked in your range bag. Folks who shoot these guns regularly like having a matched set on hand, since a single tired nipple can throw off ignition on the whole cylinder.
The wrench is shaped to fit the flats on Pietta revolver nipples so you get proper purchase without chewing up the metal or scratching the cylinder face. Nipple removal is the kind of job that goes smooth with the right tool and turns into a headache without one, especially on a gun where the nipples have been seated a long time. A little anti-seize on the threads at reassembly makes the next swap easier and keeps things from binding up.
These are cut for #10 percussion caps, so pair them with a quality #10 cap like Remington for the snuggest fit. Pull the nipples when you clean, wipe down the threads, and add anti-seize before they go back in.
