The Grayboe Phoenix 2 was built to close the gap between a true competition chassis and a stock you can actually haul up a mountain. It runs a stiff, molded composite build with a full-length aluminum bedding block, so you get solid, repeatable stability under recoil without paying a gunsmith to bed it. This long action, right-hand version is inletted for the Remington 700 and 700 clone footprint, uses M5-style detachable box magazine bottom metal, and shows up drop-in ready for your barreled action. It clears barrel contours up to and including a straight 1.250 inch profile, so heavy match tubes fit right in.
Grayboe reworked this one based on real shooter feedback. The cheek piece moved rearward and lost the notch up front, which lets long and short action bolts cycle rounds cleanly. They also stretched the vertical grip by a quarter inch for a more natural hold, and the thumb shelf gives you a comfortable, controlled position whether you're prone or working off a barricade.
The adjustable cheek riser gives you a full inch of vertical travel to line up cleanly behind bigger optics, and the length of pull runs from 12.5 to 13.5 inches using a simple spacer system. Both adjustments are quick and tool-free, so you can set it up in bulky winter gear or a summer t-shirt and get right back to shooting. A 1 inch Grayboe G Lite recoil pad rounds out the back end.
The forend carries a single long M-LOK rail with a pair of QD sling attachment points, plus flush cups spread across the stock for sling setups. The forearm runs wide and flat, which is exactly what you want resting on a bag, a pack, or a bipod. At right around 42 ounces, it stays light enough for long backcountry days while holding the rigidity that keeps groups tight at distance.
No. The Phoenix 2 uses a full-length aluminum bedding block molded into the stock, so it arrives drop-in ready for stability and repeatable accuracy without a separate bedding job. Just torque your barreled action in and you're good to go.
