Most .308 ARs feel like carrying a boat anchor with a pistol grip. The POF Revolution DI flips that script. Patriot Ordnance Factory built this rifle on an AR-15 sized footprint, so the upper, lower, bolt assembly, and barrel extension all match the dimensions of your favorite 5.56 carbine. At 6.81 pounds with a 16.5 inch barrel and 34 inches overall, it carries and points like a lightweight carbine but hits with full .308 Winchester authority. This version feeds from a 10-round magazine for a 10+1 total.
The direct impingement operating system runs through POF's 9-position Dictator adjustable gas block on a rifle-length gas system, so you can dial the gun in for everything from light match loads to hot NATO surplus, or turn the gas down when running suppressed. Backing that up is POF's patented E2 dual-extraction technology, which cuts four small channels into the chamber walls to let gas pressure help push spent cases rearward, taking a load of work off the extractor and keeping the gun running when things get hot and dirty.
The 16.5 inch match-grade barrel is 4150 chrome-moly vanadium steel with 5R button rifling, a 1:10 twist, and a full nitride heat treatment for hardness and corrosion resistance. Muzzle threads are the standard 5/8×24, and POF caps it with their triple-port muzzle brake and collar jam nut to keep this lightweight .308 flat and quick on follow-ups. The trigger is POF's single-stage drop-in unit with a clean 4.5 pound pull, secured with KNS anti-walk pins straight from the factory. Up front, the 14.5 inch Renegade M-LOK rail gives you a free-floated handguard with plenty of real estate for lights, bipods, and sling mounts.
There are cheaper .308 ARs out there, but few come out of the box with an adjustable gas block, upgraded trigger, match barrel, and this little heft. It's well set up for it. The 9-position Dictator adjustable gas block lets you dial back the extra pressure a suppressor adds, which keeps bolt speed in check and cuts down on wear and gas to the face. The barrel also comes threaded 5/8×24, so most .30 caliber cans will spin right on once you remove the muzzle brake.
It comes with POF's single-stage drop-in trigger with a clean 4.5 pound pull, installed with KNS anti-walk pins from the factory. It's a genuine upgrade over a standard mil-spec trigger and most owners find no reason to swap it. That's one less aftermarket purchase to budget for.
E2 is POF's patented chamber design that uses four small channels cut into the chamber walls. A bit of gas pressure pushes against the neck of the spent case, breaking the seal and helping shove the case rearward as the extractor pulls. That takes a lot of strain off the extractor and helps the rifle stay reliable through long, dirty range sessions.
