Patriot Ordnance Factory pulled off something clever with the Revolution DI. It fires 6.5 Creedmoor, a cartridge that normally lives in big AR-10 frames, out of a receiver set that matches AR-15 dimensions. The barrel extension, bolt, upper, and lower are all AR-15 sized, which means the rifle handles and balances like the carbine you already know while stretching your effective range well past what 5.56 can do. Where the original piston-driven Revolution proved the concept, this direct impingement version trims weight and simplifies the operating system without giving up the features that made it popular.
The 20-inch match-grade barrel is 4150 CrMoV steel with a nitride heat treatment, 1:8 twist, 5R rifling, and 5/8×24 muzzle threads wearing POF's triple-port muzzle brake. Gas comes back through a rifle-length system topped with the 9-position Dictator adjustable gas block, so you can dial the rifle in for your preferred load or throttle it down when running a suppressor. POF's patented E2 dual-extraction chamber uses four small channels cut into the chamber walls to push gas against the case neck during extraction, taking strain off the extractor and keeping things running smoothly.
The single-stage EFP drop-in trigger breaks at a clean 4 pounds and rides on anti-walk pins, which is a genuine upgrade over the gritty mil-spec triggers most factory rifles ship with. The Gen 4 billet lower is fully ambidextrous, with safety, bolt catch, and mag release accessible from either side, and the 14.5-inch Renegade M-LOK rail free-floats the barrel while giving you plenty of real estate for a bipod and accessories.
This is a natural fit for long-range steel, open-country hunting, or anyone who wants precision-rifle performance with semi-auto follow-up shots. It ships optic ready with a flat-top rail and one 20-round Magpul PMAG, so pick your glass, tune the gas, and go stretch its legs.
The original Revolution runs a gas piston operating system, while the Revolution DI uses a simpler direct impingement setup with a 9-position Dictator adjustable gas block. You get the same AR-15 sized receivers, E2 dual-extraction chamber, and billet construction, but the DI version sheds some weight and uses fewer moving parts up front. Many folks also find DI guns a touch smoother shooting.
It is. The barrel extension, bolt assembly, and upper and lower receivers match AR-15 dimensions rather than the larger AR-10 pattern most 6.5 Creedmoor gas guns use. That means it balances and handles like a standard carbine even though it's pushing a legitimate long-range cartridge.
Yes, and it's well set up for it. The 9-position Dictator gas block lets you turn gas down to compensate for the added back pressure a can creates, which keeps the action from running overgassed. The barrel wears standard 5/8×24 threads, so you'll just need to remove the triple-port brake and install your suppressor or mount.
No, it ships optic ready with a bare flat-top rail. Given the 6.5 Creedmoor's long-range potential and the 20-inch match barrel, most owners top it with a variable magnified scope in the 3-15x or 4-16x range. A quality mount and glass will let this rifle show off what it can do at distance.
