Description
Patriot Ordnance Factory made its name building piston guns, so when they finally built a direct impingement AR, they went after every weak point in the system instead of stamping out another me-too carbine. The Renegade+ runs a nearly straight gas tube paired with the Dictator 9-position adjustable gas block, so you can dial the gas down for light loads, crank it for cold weather, or tune it for a suppressor without touching a punch or a wrench beyond the included adjustment tool. The patented 3-inch heat sink barrel nut wraps the chamber and throat where temperatures peak, pulling heat away far faster than a standard barrel nut and stiffening the whole front end while it's at it.
Inside the Renegade+ Upper
The 16.5-inch barrel is 4150 CrMoV steel with a nitride heat treatment, 1:8 twist, 5R rifling, and 1/2×28 threads wearing POF's triple port muzzle brake. The bolt carrier group gets an NP3 coating that resists corrosion and stays slick with minimal lube, plus POF's patented roller cam pin, which rolls along the inside of the upper instead of dragging and gouging it the way a standard square cam pin does. E2 dual extraction cuts in the chamber let a little gas push against the spent case shoulder, taking most of the workload off the extractor.
A Renegade Plus That's Match-Ready Out of the Box
Down below, the Gen 4 billet lower is fully ambidextrous, with the safety, mag release, and bolt controls mirrored on both sides, and the Tomahawk charging handle keeps things ambi up top. The drop-in flat-face trigger breaks at a clean 3.5 pounds with KNS Precision anti-walk pins holding it in place, and it's genuinely one of the better factory triggers you'll find on a production AR. A 14.5-inch M-LOK handguard with QD sling mounts, an MFT Minimalist stock, and an MFT Engage grip round out the package, all at a trim 6.3 pounds or so. This 10+1 configuration ships with one 10-round MFT magazine and a flat top receiver that's ready for whatever optic you want to run.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I run a suppressor on the POF Renegade+?
Yes, and it's set up well for it. The barrel comes threaded 1/2×28, and the Dictator 9-position gas block lets you dial the gas down to keep the rifle from running overgassed once a can is attached. The handguard even has a cutout so you can reach the gas block with the included tool without pulling anything apart.
What's the difference between the Renegade and the Renegade+?
Both share the 16.5-inch nitride barrel, heat sink barrel nut, M-LOK rail, and adjustable gas block. The Plus steps up to POF's Gen 4 fully ambidextrous billet lower, an upgraded bolt carrier group with the roller cam pin, and the 3.5 lb flat match trigger with KNS anti-walk pins. It's the more feature-loaded version of the two.
Does the Renegade+ come with sights or an optic?
No, it ships optic ready with a bare flat top rail and no iron sights. Plan on adding a red dot, LPVO, or a set of backup irons before your first range trip. The full-length top rail gives you plenty of room for whatever setup you prefer.
Is the trigger on the Renegade+ worth it, or will I want to swap it?
Most people leave it right where it is. It's a match-grade, flat-face single-stage unit that breaks at a crisp 3.5 pounds with a short, positive reset, and independent testing has backed up that pull weight. For range work and competition, it's a genuine step above the gritty mil-spec triggers found on most factory ARs.
