Patriot Ordnance Factory built the P415 Gen 4 stripped lower for folks who want their ambidextrous controls handled from the factory instead of tracking down aftermarket parts and fitting them one by one. It comes machined from 7075 billet aluminum, which gives you a stiff, strong receiver with the crisp lines and clean flats that billet fans appreciate. The proprietary ambi controls are already installed, so all you need to finish it out is a standard mil-spec lower parts kit.
The headline here is truly two-sided operation. The bolt catch, bolt release, and magazine release are all ambidextrous, meaning a left-handed builder gets the same natural reach and control as a righty without any workarounds. POF also added an enhanced bolt catch and an oversized integrated trigger guard with grip relief, which gives you room to work with gloves on and a more comfortable hand position up against the grip. It's the kind of thoughtful layout that makes itself known the first time you run the gun.
Beyond the controls, POF worked in a flared, oversized mag well that makes reloads faster and less fussy, plus nylon tension screws that snug up the fit between your upper and lower to take out any wobble. The receiver wears a black hardcoat anodized finish that stands up to years of range time and hard use. At right around 10 ounces, it keeps things light without giving up strength.
Since this is a stripped receiver, you'll supply your own lower parts kit, trigger, buffer components, and stock or brace to complete the build. It accepts standard mil-spec AR components, so parts sourcing is straightforward. Whether you're putting together a precision rig, a competition setup, or a do-everything carbine, this lower gives you a proven foundation with ergonomics that punch well above the average AR receiver.
You'll need a standard mil-spec AR lower parts kit, which covers the trigger, hammer, safety, pins, and springs, along with a pistol grip, buffer assembly, and a stock or brace. The ambidextrous bolt catch, bolt release, and magazine release come already installed from POF, so those are handled. From there it's a straightforward build with common mil-spec components.
