Primary Arms took everything people liked about the original RS-10 and fixed the one thing folks kept asking about: the footprint. The RS-10R now sits on the RMR pattern, which is the same as the Holosun 407C/507C cut, so it bolts up to a wide range of optics-ready pistol slides and mounts without hunting for oddball adapter plates. On top of that, it carries a 3 MOA green dot, which a lot of eyes pick up faster than red in daylight.
The housing is machined from 7075 aluminum, a tougher alloy than the 6061 you find on a lot of budget optics, and it wears a hardcoat anodized finish. The lens is a 23x19mm multi-coated window that gives you a clean, usable sight picture, and the housing sticks out a hair past the glass to help shield it from drops. At right around 1.1 ounces, it adds almost nothing to your gun's balance, which matters on a carry pistol.
You get 11 brightness settings adjusted with soft-touch buttons on the left side, and the bottom couple are night vision compatible. The top end is genuinely daylight bright, so the green dot stays visible even in harsh noon sun. Power comes from a single side-loading CR1632 battery, meaning you can swap it without pulling the optic and losing your zero. Rated runtime lands up to 40,000 hours, and the AutoLive motion-sensing tech shuts the dot off when the optic sits still, then snaps it back on the instant it feels movement.
Because it rides the RMR footprint, this one plays nice with most modern optics-ready slides right out of the gate. It also ships with a low-profile adapter plate for GLOCK MOS slide cuts, so Glock owners can get up and running fast. Primary Arms backs the whole thing with their lifetime warranty, which is a nice safety net on a working optic like this.
