Otis has quietly become a go-to name for people who take rimfire maintenance seriously, and the Patriot Series .22 Cal Rifle Cleaning Kit is a great example of why. Instead of the old rigid-rod setup, this kit runs on Otis's Breech-to-Muzzle approach, where you feed a 34-inch aircraft-grade Memory-Flex cable through the chamber and pull it out the muzzle. That means you push fouling out the way it naturally wants to go, and you keep grit and debris away from the crown, which is exactly where accuracy lives on a small-bore rifle.
Though it carries the .22 name, this kit covers a wide slice of the small-caliber world. It handles .17 HMR, .17 WSM, .177, .204, .22 LR, .22-250, .22 limited breech, and even .177 and .22 airguns. That makes it a smart single purchase for a household that might have a plinking rifle, a varmint gun, and a couple of air rifles in the same safe.
This is a genuine 15-piece setup, not a rod and a brush in a bag. You get the Memory-Flex cable with a slotted tip and bore mop, caliber-specific bronze bore brushes with the size marked right on the stem so you never guess, a short all-purpose brush on a solid rod for extended reach, 100 percent cotton patches, and a clever multi-tool that works as both a T-handle for a comfortable grip and a bit driver with four bits included. Everything nests into a reusable molded hard case that stays organized whether it lives in your range bag or on the bench.
The bronze brushes use Otis's tighter-twist core wire for better bristle retention, so they last through plenty of sessions instead of shedding after a few passes. It's made in the USA and backed by Otis's No Nonsense Warranty. For the price of a couple boxes of ammo, it's an easy way to keep every rimfire in the rack shooting the way it should.
Even though it's sold as a .22 kit, it covers a wide range of small-bore rifles including .17 HMR, .17 WSM, .177, .204, .22 LR, .22-250, and .22 limited breech. It even works on .177 and .22 caliber airguns. That flexibility makes it one purchase that services most rimfire and small-caliber rifles in the safe.
Instead of pushing a rigid rod down from the muzzle, you feed the flexible Memory-Flex cable through the chamber and pull it out the muzzle. This moves fouling in the same direction the bullet travels and keeps debris away from the muzzle crown, which helps protect accuracy. It also lets you clean rifles that don't easily allow rod access from the breech.
The multi-tool serves double duty as a comfortable T-handle for pulling the cable through and as a bit driver for the four included bits. That gives you a way to handle basic field maintenance and minor screw work without digging out a separate tool. It's a handy addition for keeping everything you need in one case.
Yes, this kit is made in the USA and backed by Otis's No Nonsense Warranty. The bronze brushes use a tighter-twist core wire for better bristle retention and longer brush life. It's a durable, no-frills setup meant to hold up through regular use.
