One Horse built this 15" M-LOK handguard for guys who want a clean, no-frills upgrade over a factory rail without adding a bunch of bulk to their build. It's a free-float design, which means the handguard rides independent of the barrel instead of clamping onto it, so nothing you mount up front puts pressure on your barrel or messes with your accuracy. The slim profile keeps your support hand close to the bore axis for better control, and the continuous top rail gives you a mounting surface for optics or back-up sights the whole length of the forend.
Most of the bulk on a factory handguard is just dead weight. One Horse trimmed this one down so it sits closer to the barrel while still leaving enough wall thickness to stay rigid under use. That slimmer shape also means a smaller circumference to wrap your hand around, which a lot of folks notice right away when they're used to a chunkier quad rail. Less material also means less weight hanging off the front of your rifle, which matters if you're already running a light, optic, and sling mount out there.
The handguard ships with a steel barrel nut, so you're not left hunting down a separate part before you can even start the install. It's built to Mil-Spec dimensions, so it threads onto a standard AR-15 upper receiver without any fitting tricks. At 15 inches, it's got enough length to fully cover a mid-length or rifle-length gas system and a low-profile gas block with room to spare, keeping your hands away from the hot stuff underneath.
The M-LOK cutouts run along the sides and bottom of the rail, giving you plenty of real estate to bolt on a light, foregrip, bipod, or sling mount in the exact spot that works for your setup. Everything is finished in a hardcoat anodized black coating, which holds up well against scratches, holster wear, and the usual bumps and drags that come with regular range time or field use.
