The Odin Works Ambidextrous Modular Safety solves that headache by letting you dial in the exact throw and paddle position that fits your hand. It drops into any mil-spec AR-15 or AR-9 lower and installs just like a standard selector, so you're not reinventing your build to run it.
The magic here is in the reversible selector barrel. Flip its orientation in the lower and you switch between a traditional 90 degree throw and a quick 45 degree throw. Pair that with the two paddles that can be mounted on either side in different slots, and you get up to 8 different configurations. That means you can run a long paddle on your dominant side and a low-profile one on the off side, or set the levers so they point up and away from your trigger finger when the rifle's hot. The paddles are contoured and textured, with edges rounded off so nothing digs into your hand during a long day at the range.
Machined from 6061 aluminum billet and finished in black anodizing, this selector is lightweight at roughly 0.42 ounces and holds up to hard use. The enlarged paddles are easy to find by feel, which is exactly what you want when you're running a 3-gun stage or a fast drill and don't have time to look down. It's a favorite among both left and right handed shooters for good reason, and it plays nice with common drop-in triggers and a wide range of lowers.

Just pull the grip to reach the detent and spring, swap in the new barrel in your preferred orientation, reinstall the detent and spring, then set your paddles and tighten the screws.
