The Noveske KX5 Flash Suppressor, better known as the Flaming Pig, is one of those muzzle devices that does more than its name lets on. On paper it's a flash hider, and it's classified as one, but out in the real world it works a lot like a muzzle brake. It redirects the muzzle blast and concussion forward, away from you and anyone standing at your side, which is exactly what you want on a loud 7.62 NATO or .308 setup. This one comes threaded 5/8×24 to fit standard .308 pattern barrels.
The cone design does two jobs at once. First, it keeps a good chunk of the visible flash from reaching your eyes, which helps preserve night vision in low light. Second, it builds back pressure at the muzzle, and that's the trick that makes it a favorite for short-barreled rifles and pistols. On an abbreviated barrel where a plain A2 hider dumps everything back in your face, the KX5 pushes that concussion out front and makes the gun far more pleasant to run. Folks who've swapped one onto a short 7.5 or 10.5 inch build regularly say it saved them from ripping the gun apart and starting over.
Noveske went with a slim profile on purpose so it slides right under NSR handguards and other small-diameter rails, giving you that clean covered look without a big clunky cone hanging out front. Unlike prong-style or duckbill hiders, the KX5 has a smooth front edge, so it won't grab clothing, brush, or a sling while you're on the move.
Built from heat-treated chromoly steel with a corrosion-resistant black nitride finish, it's made to take heat and abuse. It measures 3.25 inches long, 1.2 inches in diameter, and weighs just 4.5 ounces. Every KX5 is individually serial numbered and ships with a crush washer so you can time the pig up straight. Yes. While the KX5 was originally designed to help short-barreled rifles and pistols run more reliably by increasing back pressure, it works on any barrel length. Longer barrels still get the flash reduction and forward-directed blast, so you're not limited to SBRs or pistols.
This version is threaded 5/8×24, which is the standard pattern for .308 Win and 7.62 NATO barrels. That makes it a straight fit for AR-10 pattern rifles and other 7.62 builds. Double check your barrel's muzzle threads before ordering to be sure they match.

That forward blast is a big reason short-barrel shooters like it, since it keeps the punch from coming back at your face.
It threads onto your muzzle and comes with a crush washer so you can time the flaming pig engraving to sit straight up. Installation is straightforward with the included washer and a wrench, and each unit is individually serial numbered for quality control. Snug it down to spec and index the pig where you want it.
