The Iris takes North American Arms' proven .22 Magnum frame and gives it a look you won't find anywhere else in the case: a turquoise Cerakote ported barrel, matte stainless steel frame, a stainless and turquoise two-tone cylinder with engraving on the cylinder and cylinder pin, and smooth faux white pearl grips to finish it off. At 6.5 ounces and just over 5 inches long, it disappears into a pocket, a small bag, or a belt buckle holster without a second thought.
Under the good looks, this is the same single-action mini NAA has been building in Provo, Utah for decades. The 1.625 inch ported barrel helps tame muzzle rise from the .22 WMR cartridge, and the bead front sight gives you a quick reference point up close. Loading is classic mini-revolver: pull the cylinder pin, drop the cylinder out, load five rounds, and reassemble. The cylinder has safety notches between the chambers, so you can rest the hammer securely with all five loaded. It runs any standard .22 Magnum ammunition, including shotshell loads, which makes it a handy little companion on the trail or around the property.
Set your expectations right and this gun is a blast, in every sense. It's a deliberate, single-action shooter meant for close range, not a target pistol. .22 Magnum out of a short barrel brings some bark and flash, but recoil stays mild, which is part of why these minis have such a loyal following. Plenty of folks carry one as a deep-concealment backup, and just as many collect them because they're beautifully made and genuinely fun to shoot.

Like all NAA minis, the Iris loads by removing the cylinder from the frame. You pull the cylinder pin, tip the cylinder out, load five rounds directly into the chambers, then reinstall it. It takes a little practice at first, but it becomes second nature quickly.
Yes. The cylinder has safety notches machined between the chambers, so the hammer can rest securely in a notch rather than on a live round. That lets you carry all five rounds loaded without the hammer sitting over a cartridge.
It runs any standard .22 WMR (.22 Magnum) ammunition, from full metal jacket and hollow points to .22 Magnum shotshells, sometimes sold as snake shot. It is not chambered for .22 LR, so stick with Magnum loads unless you pick up a model with a conversion cylinder.
