There's small, and then there's the North American Arms Mini Revolver. This little single action wheelgun measures just over five inches from muzzle to grip, weighs in the neighborhood of six ounces, and still gives you five rounds of .22 Magnum on tap. It's the kind of gun you can tuck into a pocket, a jacket, or a small holster and genuinely forget it's there, which is exactly why so many people who own bigger carry guns still end up with one of these.
The whole gun is stainless steel, frame and all, so it holds up to sweat, pocket lint, and everyday carry without fussing over it. The 1.625 inch barrel version gives you a bit more sight radius and velocity than the shorter barreled Minis, and the fixed sights keep things simple at the close distances this gun is meant for. Rosewood bird's head grips round out the look and give your hand something to hang onto. Fit and finish on these is a real point of pride for NAA, and it shows when you turn one over in your hand.
One of the smartest features on this revolver is the safety notch cylinder. After loading, you lower the hammer into one of the halfway notches machined between the chambers, which lets you carry all five rounds with zero worry about the hammer sitting on a live primer. Cock the hammer and the cylinder rotates to a fresh round, ready to go. The half cock position is used strictly for loading and unloading. It's an old school system done right.
The .22 WMR chambering runs the full range of magnum rimfire loads, including shotshells for pests and snakes around the property. If you want more range time flexibility, NAA offers a .22 LR conversion cylinder separately, so one gun can run cheaper practice ammo and step back up to magnum when it goes in your pocket. Simple, clever, and very easy to live with.

The longer barrel squeezes a bit more velocity out of the .22 Magnum round and gives you a slightly longer sight radius, which helps with practical accuracy at close range. The tradeoff in size is minimal, so many folks consider the 1.625 inch version the sweet spot in the Mini lineup.
It runs the full spread of .22 WMR loads, from standard jacketed hollow points to shotshell loads that work well for snakes and pests at close distance. For defensive use, lighter hollow points designed for short barrels tend to perform best. Stick with quality rimfire ammo and this little revolver will keep going bang.
