North American Arms took their proven .22 Magnum mini revolver frame and asked a simple question: what if it were easier to hang onto? The answer is the Black Widow. Same tiny five-shot single action at its core, but with a heavy 2-inch vent barrel, a bull cylinder, and an oversized black rubber grip wearing the red hourglass that gives the gun its name. This Combo version sweetens the deal with two cylinders, one chambered in .22 WMR and a conversion cylinder for .22 Long Rifle. Swapping takes seconds. Pull the cylinder pin, lift out one cylinder, drop in the other, and you are back in business.
The two-cylinder setup is the practical heart of this package. Rimfire magnum ammo adds up fast, so being able to burn through bargain .22 LR at the range keeps practice affordable, then you slide in the magnum cylinder for carry. And practice is more pleasant here than with the standard minis. The larger grip fills your hand instead of hiding in it, and the extra weight up front from that bull barrel settles the gun down noticeably. Fixed low-profile sights are dovetailed into the barrel and stay snag-free on the draw.
At roughly 8.8 ounces and under 6 inches long overall, this is a gun you can tuck into a pocket holster and genuinely forget about. The single-action design keeps things simple and deliberate: cock the hammer for each shot. NAA also mills safety notches into the rear of each cylinder, so you can rest the hammer between chambers and carry all five rounds loaded with the hammer off any cartridge rim.
NAA has been building these little stainless revolvers for decades, and the Black Widow is widely considered the sweet spot of the line, small enough to disappear but built up enough to shoot with confidence. As a deep-concealment backup, a tackle box companion, or just a fun conversation piece at the range, it fills a niche almost nothing else does.
It takes just a few seconds and no tools. Remove the cylinder pin, drop the cylinder out of the frame, set the other one in its place, and reinsert the pin. The same pin doubles as your ejector for pushing out spent cases.
Yes, thanks to the safety notches milled into the back rim of each cylinder. Lowering the hammer into a notch between chambers lets it rest on solid steel instead of a cartridge rim. Carried this way, the gun stays fully loaded without the hammer touching a live round.
Noticeably better for most hands. The oversized rubber grip gives you a full purchase instead of a two-finger pinch, and the heavy 2-inch vent barrel with the bull cylinder adds steadying weight up front. It is still a close-range gun, but it is the most comfortable shooter in the NAA mini family.
This model, NAA-BWC, wears fixed low-profile sights dovetailed into the barrel. They are simple, tough, and will not snag on a pocket draw. NAA does make a separate adjustable-sight version if you want elevation tuning, but it carries a different part number.
