The Bondstrike platform was engineered for shooters who refuse to choose between close-range reliability and long-range consistency. The bonded design resists separation on impact better than conventional cup-and-core bullets, while the thin front jacket ensures the polymer tip can initiate expansion without requiring high velocity. That means the round performs predictably from 50 yards out, not just at 300. Factory testing by Norma uses ballistic gelatin across multiple distances to verify expansion behavior, something most ammunition makers skip.
Each box contains 20 rounds of brass-cased ammunition loaded with Norma's own propellant formulation. Norma brass has a strong reputation among reloaders for consistency and durability, and that same attention to detail carries through to their factory rounds. Velocity runs 2793 fps with muzzle energy of 1212 ft-lbs, generating a flatter trajectory than lighter bullet weights while keeping recoil manageable in an AR platform.
Bondstrike uses a chemically bonded core and jacket design rather than conventional cup-and-core construction. This keeps the bullet together during impact for higher weight retention and more consistent expansion, especially valuable when you're shooting different distances or need terminal performance to be predictable. The polymer tip also ensures the round expands reliably even at lower velocities.
A 1:9 twist barrel will stabilize 70-grain bullets reliably. Most modern 5.56 rifles run either 1:7 or 1:8 twist, both of which will handle this weight without issue. If your rifle has a very slow 1:12 or 1:14 twist, you may see stability problems with 70-grain projectiles, so check your rifle's specs.
You need to verify your chamber first. 5.56 NATO is loaded to higher pressure than .223 Remington, so only shoot 5.56 in a rifle marked for 5.56 NATO or .223 Wylde. If your rifle is marked .223 Remington only, don't use this ammunition. When in doubt, have a gunsmith verify your chamber.
