Norma Whitetail 7.7 Jap 174gr Soft Point Hunting Ammo

Description

If you're working with a classic Arisaka rifle, you know finding quality modern ammunition can be tough. Norma steps in with their Whitetail line, bringing reliable hunting performance to this historically important but often overlooked cartridge. The 7.7 Japanese, or 7.7x58mm as it's officially known, performs at a ballistic level similar to the .303 British, making it an effective round for medium game hunting out to moderate ranges.

Norma's Proven Soft Point Design

The 174-grain soft point bullet is exactly what you'd want for a rifle like this. It features a flat base for consistent accuracy, an exposed lead tip that initiates quick expansion, and a controlled lead core designed to mushroom reliably on impact. The thin jacket at the front promotes expansion while the construction prevents over-penetration, delivering energy where it counts. Field data suggests these perform best inside 200 yards, which fits perfectly with how most people hunt from these rifles.

Premium Brass Built for Reloaders

What sets Norma's approach apart is their commitment to case quality. The brass that comes in these boxes meets and exceeds reloader standards, and it's Swedish-manufactured, which means consistent dimensions and dependable performance. If you're planning to reload after your hunt, you're getting premium components you'd be happy to size and reload for future seasons.

Loaded in Åmotfors, Sweden, with the same attention to detail as all Norma ammunition, each round comes ready to drop into your Type 99 or other Arisaka-chambered rifle.
