The BRN-180 was built to echo the old AR-180/AR-18, right down to that offset charging handle that reciprocates with the bolt. Some folks love the retro character, but plenty of people would rather not have a handle whipping back and forth next to their support hand. That's exactly the itch this A3 Industries setup scratches. It converts your reciprocating charging handle into a non-reciprocating one and relocates the pull point forward, away from the ejection port, for a cleaner and more modern manual of arms.
The trick here is smart engineering. A low-profile 4140 steel bolt adapter replaces your existing charging handle, and that's the only piece riding with the bolt. The forward-mounted guide rail and the curved handle itself stay put while you're shooting, held in place by a tensioned ball detent that keeps the knob latched on the guide. Pull it to charge, let it ride the guide bar, and it settles right back into position. The whole thing adds only about 2.9 ounces, so you're not throwing off the balance of a rifle that already runs light and soft.
The bolt adapters are machined from high-tolerance 4140 steel while the guide and curved finger-notch knob are cut from 7075 aluminum and hard-coat anodized in black, so it holds up to real use and matches the look of the upper. Installation is genuinely a ten-minute job: swap the adapter, attach the guide bar to an M-LOK slot on your handguard, and secure the handle. No permanent modifications, and it works across BRN-180 setups.
The curved knob gives your fingers a natural notch to grab, which is the version a lot of people reach for over the round grooved knob.
