Small carry guns have always been tough to light up. Most weapon lights are built for full-size rails, which leaves subcompact owners stuck. The Nightstick TCM-5B-GL fixes that with a dedicated rail clamp shaped for narrow-rail and short-rail pistols, so you finally get a proper light and laser combo that fits the gun you actually carry every day.
Output is where this little unit earns its keep. It pushes 650 lumens through a total internal reflection lens that shapes a tight, focused hotspot reaching out to 136 meters, wrapped in a defined outer halo that keeps your peripheral awareness intact. Add the 520nm daylight-visible green laser and you have both target identification and aiming confirmation in one compact package, whether you are indoors or out in bright sun. All of it runs off a single CR123 lithium cell for roughly two hours of runtime.
The controls are genuinely ambidextrous. Rear-facing toggle switches sit on both sides of the light with a positive tactile click, so lefties and righties get the exact same experience. You can cycle between momentary and constant-on, and choose light only, laser only, or light and laser together. There is also a user-programmable strobe mode and a battery-safe mode when you want to lock things down and protect the cell during storage. Twist the bezel to disable operation and prevent accidental activation in a bag or safe.
The housing is aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum with a polymer rear section, rated IP-X7 waterproof and built to survive a two-meter drop. At 2.8 ounces and about 2.5 inches long, it stays out of the way on a small pistol. It fits a long list of subcompacts including the Glock 43X and 48 MOS, Sig P365 X-Macro, Springfield Hellcat, Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 Subcompact, Beretta PX4 Storm Subcompact, and plenty of other short-railed 1913 handguns. Nightstick backs it with a limited lifetime warranty.
