The NightStick LGL-180-IR is built around a simple idea that most weapon lights get wrong: instead of forcing one reflector to do double duty for visible and infrared light, it uses two dedicated LEDs, each paired with its own optimized reflector. That means you get a genuinely bright, well-focused beam in both modes rather than a compromise. On the visible side you're looking at 1100 lumens pushing out to 229 meters, and the separate 940nm infrared illuminator delivers 1400mw with similar reach for anyone running night vision on a rifle, carbine, or shotgun.
The standout feature is the tactile rotating collar on the bezel. Give it a turn and you're moving between visible, infrared, or off without ever taking your eyes off what's in front of you. Both the standard tail cap switch and the included 6-inch remote pressure pad give you momentary and constant-on control, so you can set it up however your hands naturally fall on the gun.
Bayco included two ways to attach this thing. It ships with a reversible thumbscrew Picatinny mount already installed, and there's a 45-degree offset Picatinny mount in the box for clearing front sights, optics, or lasers while keeping the light within easy reach of your support hand. A dedicated rail mount for the pressure switch plus Nightstick's own wire management clamp keep that cable from snagging on gear.
The kit runs on a pair of CR123 batteries, which are included, and gets you about 2 hours of runtime in either mode. The nice part is that it's multi-fuel, so you can also drop in a single 18650 lithium-ion cell if that's what you keep on hand. The body is machined from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum with a black hardcoat anodized finish, carries an IPX7 waterproof rating, and survives a 2-meter drop. It's also serialized and backed by Nightstick's limited lifetime warranty.
No, the two modes are selected one at a time using the rotating collar on the bezel. You twist it to choose visible (VIS), infrared (IR), or OFF, and each mode uses its own dedicated LED and reflector. This design keeps both beams tightly focused instead of blending them together.
Yes. The 940nm infrared illuminator is invisible to the naked eye, so you'll need night vision gear to see and use it. In white light mode the 1100-lumen beam works just like any standard weapon light, so the LGL-180-IR is useful with or without NODs.
It comes with two CR123 batteries in the box and runs about two hours in either mode. It's also multi-fuel, meaning you can run it off a single 18650 lithium-ion cell if you prefer rechargeables. That flexibility makes it easy to keep it fed with whatever you already stock.
