There are big-frame ARs, and then there is the NEMO Arms Executive Order Carbon. This 6.5 Creedmoor version takes everything people like about the cartridge, flat trajectory, great ballistic coefficients, mild recoil, and puts it in a semi-auto platform that carries more like a lightweight hunting rifle than a typical AR-10. The heart of it is a 20-inch Proof Research carbon fiber wrapped barrel, which sheds a serious amount of weight up front while giving the 6.5 Creedmoor enough length to reach its full velocity potential. Wrapped in a clean Tungsten Cerakote finish over a lightweight billet receiver set, it looks as sharp as it shoots.
NEMO did not cut corners anywhere on this build. The trigger is a Geissele Super Dynamic Enhanced two stage, one of the best factory triggers you will find on any AR-pattern rifle. The bolt carrier is NEMO's patented recoil reduction design, which tames the 6.5 Creedmoor to the point where follow-up shots feel closer to a 5.56 carbine than a large-frame rifle. The adjustable gas block has suppressed and unsuppressed settings, so if you run a can, dialing the rifle in is quick and painless. Titanium takedown pins, a dual chamber muzzle brake, and a free float M-LOK handguard finish out the package.
Full ambidextrous controls, including the safety, mag release, and charging handle, mean lefties get the same smooth handling as everyone else. The Magpul CTR stock adjusts for length of pull, and the long free float rail gives you plenty of room for a bipod, light, or night vision setup. Whether the job is western big game hunting, steel at distance, or precision rifle matches, this rifle covers a lot of ground.
It ships with a 20-round Magpul Gen3 PMAG and runs on standard SR-25 pattern magazines, so spare mags are easy to come by. Pick your favorite 140 grain match load or a quality hunting bullet and this barrel will show you what it can do.
Very well, thanks to a two-part approach. NEMO's patented recoil reduction bolt carrier soaks up a big chunk of the impulse, and the dual chamber muzzle brake handles the rest. The result feels much softer than most large-frame ARs, which makes staying on target for quick follow-up shots noticeably easier.
