The .350 Legend has earned its spot in deer camps for a simple reason: it hits plenty hard inside 200 yards without beating up your shoulder, and this Patriot Predator is one of the nicer ways to shoot it. This TALO version swaps the usual synthetic furniture for a gray laminate stock, which gives you the classic wood look with far better stability in wet and humid conditions. Laminate does not swell and shift the way solid hardwood can, so your zero stays put when the weather turns.
The 22 inch stainless Cerakote barrel is fluted to trim weight and speed up cooling, free-floated for consistency, and threaded 5/8×24 at the muzzle so adding a suppressor or brake takes about a minute. Cerakote over stainless is a tough combination that handles rain, snow, and truck-bed abuse without fuss. The spiral fluted bolt runs smooth, and the oversized, knurled bolt handle gives you real purchase for fast follow-ups, even with cold or gloved hands. A 1:16 twist stabilizes the common .350 Legend bullet weights well, from light varmint loads up to heavy hunting rounds.
Mossberg's LBA adjustable trigger is a genuine standout at this price point. It is user-adjustable from 2 to 7 pounds, so you can run it light and crisp for the bench or a bit heavier for cold-weather sits. Rounds feed from a detachable 4 round drop box magazine, which makes loading and unloading at the truck quick and simple.
At roughly 7.25 pounds with a 42.25 inch overall length, it carries comfortably to the stand and settles nicely on the rail of a box blind. There are no iron sights, so plan on mounting a scope, and the mild recoil of the .350 Legend makes this a great pick for newer hunters and seasoned deer hunters alike. It is a lot of well-thought-out rifle for the money, and the laminate stock makes it one of the sharper-looking Patriots in the lineup.
No, this model ships without iron sights or an optic. The receiver is set up for scope mounting, so plan on adding bases or a rail and the glass of your choice. Given the .350 Legend's practical range, a quality 2-7x or 3-9x scope pairs with it nicely.
Yes. The 22 inch fluted barrel is threaded 5/8×24, which is the common thread pitch for .350 Legend, so most cans and brakes in that pattern will spin right on. A thread protector keeps things clean when you are running the bare muzzle.
You can. Mossberg's LBA (Lightning Bolt Action) trigger is user-adjustable from roughly 2 to 7 pounds without a trip to a gunsmith. It breaks clean and is one of the better factory triggers you will find on a hunting rifle in this class.
The .350 Legend is a straight-wall cartridge that has become a favorite for whitetail and hogs inside about 200 yards. Recoil is noticeably lighter than .450 Bushmaster or a 12 gauge slug gun, which makes it comfortable for long practice sessions and a smart choice for newer or smaller-framed hunters. In this 7.25 pound rifle it is very manageable.
