There is a reason the Mossberg Patriot keeps showing up in deer camps everywhere. It packs features you normally pay a lot more for into a working hunter's rifle, and this 6.5 Creedmoor version in Cerakote stainless might be the best all-around setup in the lineup. The 22-inch fluted barrel is free-floating with a recessed crown to protect the rifling, and the 1:8 twist stabilizes the heavier match and hunting bullets that made the 6.5 Creedmoor famous for its flat trajectory and mild recoil.
The metalwork on this Patriot wears Cerakote stainless, one of the toughest finishes in the business for fighting rust, scratches, and chemical wear. Pair that with the black synthetic classic stock and you have a rifle you can carry through rain, snow, and brush without babying it. Textured stippling on the grip and forend keeps your hands planted when things get wet, and the raised cheekpiece and rubber recoil pad help you settle in comfortably behind the scope. At around 6.5 pounds bare, it carries easily on long walks to the stand.
Mossberg's LBA (Lightning Bolt Action) trigger is a standout at this price point. It adjusts from roughly 2 to 7 pounds, so you can set a crisp, light pull for precision work or keep it heavier for cold-weather hunts with gloves. The spiral-fluted bolt with its knurled handle cycles smoothly and looks sharp doing it, and the twin-lug push-feed action feeds reliably from the detachable box magazine.
Weaver-style bases come factory installed, so mounting a scope takes minutes instead of a trip to the gunsmith. Add your favorite optic, zero it, and this Patriot is set for whitetail, mule deer, antelope, or a full day of steel at the range. The 5+1 capacity and drop-out magazine make loading and unloading quick and simple. For anyone wanting a do-it-all 6.5 Creedmoor that will not flinch at hard use, this one earns its spot in the safe.
No iron sights or scope are included on this model. It does ship with Weaver-style scope bases already installed on the receiver, so all you need are rings and your optic of choice. Most buyers pair it with a 3-9x or 4-12x hunting scope and are ready to zero the same day.
Yes. Mossberg's LBA (Lightning Bolt Action) trigger is user-adjustable across a range of roughly 2 to 7 pounds. The adjustment is straightforward and covered in the owner's manual, so you can dial in a lighter pull for precision shooting or a heavier one for gloved hands without visiting a gunsmith.
It is one of the most popular deer cartridges going for good reason. The 6.5 Creedmoor delivers a flat trajectory, excellent accuracy, and noticeably light recoil, making it comfortable for shooters of all sizes. It is well suited for whitetail, mule deer, and antelope at practical hunting distances, and the 1:8 twist barrel on this rifle handles heavier bullets well.
Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating that outperforms traditional bluing when it comes to resisting rust, scratches, and corrosion. Combined with the synthetic stock, this Patriot is built for hunters who face wet or harsh weather. It still deserves normal cleaning and care, but you will not have to worry over every raindrop.
