The result is a set of panels molded from heavy-duty reinforced polymer in a clean Olive Drab Green that pairs nicely with FDE or green Cerakote builds, or just breaks up an all-black gun.
The standout feature is the diamond-shaped cross section. Instead of a flat slab, the panels swell slightly at the center, which locks the pistol into your palm and resists twisting under recoil. That translates to sights that come back on target faster between shots. The texture is grippy without being cheese-grater aggressive, so it gives you traction in wet or sweaty conditions while staying comfortable enough for carry against the body. Yes. These panels are designed for full size Government frame 1911s and the many clones built to that pattern, as long as the frame uses standard grip screw bushings. If your pistol has a standard frame from makers like Colt, Springfield, Rock Island, Ruger, or Tisas, you should be in good shape. Compact and Officer-size frames need shorter panels, so these aren't the right pick for those.
They do. The right-side panel comes relieved from the factory to clear the lever on an ambi safety, so there's no cutting or fitting needed for most setups. That's a nice touch since plenty of aftermarket grips require modification for ambi safeties.
You get the left and right panels, and they reuse the grip screws already on your pistol. Installation is as simple as it gets: remove the old screws and panels, set the new ones in place, and snug the screws back down. A properly fitting flathead or hex driver, depending on your screws, is all it takes.
The texture on these MOE panels is positive but moderate, which is part of why they're popular for carry guns. They give you reliable traction in wet or sweaty hands without snagging clothing or rubbing your side raw.
