The Clever Mirage ST Sporting T1 is a 12 gauge target load made for shooters who spend their weekends chasing clays across a sporting course. Loaded in a 2-3/4" hull with a full 1-1/8oz of #7.5 lead shot, this shell gives you the pellet count and downrange energy to reach out and crush the long crossers and hard-angle presentations that give a lighter load trouble. Clever is an Italian shotshell maker with a serious reputation on the competition circuit, and their Mirage line has earned its spot in the gun bags of clay shooters worldwide.
The #7.5 shot is the sweet spot for sporting clays, delivering a dense pattern that stays effective when targets stretch out past the closer stations. Backed by a 3.25 dram equivalent charge, this load carries plenty of authority for those tougher presentations while still patterning cleanly through most sporting chokes. The T1 designation refers to the brass head height Clever uses on this shell, a detail their target shooters know well.
Consistency is where a good target shell earns its keep, and the Mirage Sporting is built to feed and fire the same way shot after shot. The reliable primer and quality powder charge keep velocity even, which translates to predictable patterns and less second-guessing when you call for the bird. Empty hulls hold up nicely too, so reloaders will appreciate having a good base to work with.
Whether you're grinding through a full sporting round, running practice on the skeet field, or heading out for a dove opener, this is a versatile 12 gauge load that punches above its reputation. If you shoot a lot and want a shell that performs like the premium European target loads without any fuss, the Mirage ST Sporting is a solid pick.
This load is built for sporting clays, where you face targets at a wide range of distances and angles. The #7.5 shot and 1-1/8oz payload give you the pattern density and downrange reach to handle the long crossers and tough presentations. It also works great for skeet, trap practice, and even upland birds like dove.
The #7.5 shot carries more energy and holds a tighter effective pattern at longer ranges, which is exactly what you want on a sporting course with distant targets. Smaller shot like #8 or #9 works well for closer stations and skeet, but #7.5 gives you more versatility across the whole course. Many sporting clays shooters lean on it as their all-around size.
T1 refers to the brass head height Clever uses on the hull. Clever builds several different shells on the same T1 base, so the T1 label alone doesn't tell you the payload or velocity. This particular shell is the Sporting version loaded with 1-1/8oz of #7.5 shot.
Yes, Clever hulls hold up well and are popular with reloaders who want a quality base to build on. The consistent brass and hull construction make them worth saving after a range session. Just keep in mind reloading data varies, so match your components to the hull you're working with.
