When a shell wears the Grand Italia name, you know you're getting Clever's top-tier recipe, and the T3 in 12 gauge, 2-3/4", 1-1/8 oz of #7.5 at 1285 fps is a load built for serious clay work. This is the line trap and sporting folks reach for when they want consistency, and it has earned a reputation among competitive crowds for a reason. Clever hangs its hat on a long list of Olympic trap wins, and the Grand Italia series is the shell those champions have leaned on.
The big difference in this tier comes down to components. The T3 uses extra-hard, high-antimony lead shot, which is what gives it that even, deep pattern that holds together well past 25 yards. Plenty of experienced clay breakers describe the T3 as pattering tighter and more uniformly at distance than the lower-tier Clever loads, so it shines on long crossers and edge-on presentations where you need every pellet pulling its weight. The #7.5 shot in a full 1-1/8 oz charge gives you a dense column without going overboard.
Feel is where this shell really wins people over. Folks who run these describe them as smooth and clean-burning, which matters a lot if you're shooting an autoloader and hate scrubbing powder residue out of the action after a long day. The 2-3/4" hull feeds reliably through semi-autos and over-unders alike, and the reputation for consistent ignition is well documented by people who've gone through flat after flat without a dud.
This is a target and game load through and through, right at home on American trap, sporting clays, 5-stand, skeet, and the international disciplines. The #7.5 shot size also makes it a capable upland and small game option when the season rolls around. If you want a premium Italian shell that punches above expectations, the Grand Italia T3 is tough to beat.
This load is built for clay target sports like American trap, sporting clays, skeet, 5-stand, and the international disciplines such as Olympic trap and double trap. The 1-1/8 oz charge of #7.5 shot gives you a dense, even pattern for both close and longer presentations. The #7.5 size also makes it a solid choice for upland birds and small game.
The T3 steps up to extra-hard, higher-antimony lead shot, which is the main thing separating it from the economy lines. That harder shot produces tighter, more uniform patterns at distance and resists deforming as it leaves the barrel. It's considered Clever's premium tier, comparable to top-shelf domestic competition loads.
Shooters consistently describe the Clever Mirage line as smooth shooting for the velocity, with a soft push rather than a sharp jolt. Combined with clean-burning powder, that makes it a comfortable pick for high-volume range days. If you run a semi-auto, the clean burn means less powder residue building up in the action.
This particular load pushes 1-1/8 oz of #7.5 lead shot at a rated 1285 fps in a 2-3/4" hull. That combination gives you a dependable, hard-hitting pattern well suited to breaking clays and handling faster targets.
