Most adapter plates chase light weight with aluminum. Forward Controls went the other direction here, machining this one from 4140 steel and finishing it with a tough QPQ coating. Their reasoning is simple: steel plates pair better with steel screws, and in a part that absorbs every bit of slide recoil, durability matters more than shaving fractions of an ounce. The result is a plate cut to Aimpoint's ACRO TDP with tight tolerances, which is exactly why it's become a go-to among serious users. For the record, this is the same part as the TangoDown SSM-03, carrying the Forward Controls logo.
This plate is compatible with the MIL-issued M17 and M18, plus civilian M17/M18, Compact, XCompact, Legion, and slides with the Romeo1 Pro, DPP Pro, or standard Pro Cut. Steiner MPS owners can run it too, though the MPS recoil lug sometimes seats a touch tighter and may need a firm push to fully seat. When in doubt, check that your slide has the correct optics cut groove before ordering.
Removing the factory sight plate cover on a P320 or M17/M18 isn't quite as simple as a Glock MOS. Take your time and hold the loaded chamber indicator with a finger or a piece of tape while you pull the plate, since that LCI spring is small and easy to damage. Torque the included M4 screws to spec, add the supplied thread locker, and you're set.
