The Midwest Industries Night Fighter M-LOK handguard earned its name for a reason. This 13.5-inch free-float rail was engineered with an ultra-rigid design that fights the flex you get from cheaper handguards, which is exactly what you want when you're mounting an IR laser or night vision aiming device like an ATPIAL, DBAL, or NGAL. Flex means point-of-impact shift, and this rail is built to keep your zero locked in even when you're really cranking down on a sling.
It's machined from 6061 aluminum and finished in Type III hard coat anodizing, so it shrugs off the abuse of real-world use. The slim profile runs 1.5 inches on the outside with a 1.250-inch inside diameter, giving you a comfortable, controllable grip whether you're barricade shooting or running a support-hand thumb-over-bore hold. It's fully dehorned and deburred too, so no sharp edges digging into your hand after a long day at the range.
The attachment options are where this rail really shines. You get a continuous MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny top rail for optics, backup irons, or forward-mounted devices, plus seven sides of M-LOK for lights, grips, bipods, and pressure switches. Two integral anti-rotation QD sling sockets are built right in, so you can run a two-point sling without adding bulky adapters.
Midwest didn't skimp on the hardware. The package ships with a heat-treated 4140 steel barrel nut measuring 2.250 inches long, a patented 4140 heat-treated torque plate that adds to the overall rigidity, and the wrench you need to get it torqued down right. A 5-slot polymer M-LOK rail is tossed in as well for short accessory mounting. It's designed for standard forged upper receivers and is proudly made in the USA, backed by the Midwest Industries lifetime warranty.
It's designed to fit standard forged AR upper receivers and comes with everything you need to mount it, including the barrel nut, torque plate, and wrench. If you're running a billet upper, dimensions vary between manufacturers, so it's worth confirming clearance with your upper's maker first. Keep in mind it's not intended for gas piston AR systems.
