The Midwest Industries Alpha Fixed Beam Side Folder brings serious build quality to rifles running a 1913 Picatinny stock adapter. Built from polymer, aluminum, and 4140 heat-treated steel, this stock is engineered for durability while keeping things lightweight at just over a pound. It ships configured for rifle use and also works with Gear Head Works tailhook for other applications if you swap things around down the road.
Where the Alpha really shines is adaptability. The polymer cheek piece adjusts to dial in your comfort and eye relief with optics, while the rubber butt pad moves with you to work around plate carriers or heavy gear. These aren't gimmicky either, they're built sturdy enough to handle serious use without loosening up over time.
The side-folding hinge is constructed from 4140 heat-treated steel with a full-length locking lug for maximum strength. It locks up tight in both positions with zero wobble, and the mechanism can be configured to fold left or right depending on your preference. Out of the box, the folding action is somewhat stiff, but that breaks in nicely with use and actually means you get a solid, positive lock rather than loose play.
The fixed beam design keeps complexity low while maintaining rock-solid stability. You get three QD sling attachment points so you can run slings however works best for your setup. Installation is straightforward, and Midwest includes the tools and instructions you need. The stock adds 8.5 inches overall when extended and only 0.75 inches when folded, making it practical for vehicles, tight spaces, or compact rifle builds. Reversible design means it works equally well for left or right-handed users.
The Alpha Fixed Beam mounts to any rifle equipped with a 1913 Picatinny rail adapter on the rear trunnion. This includes AK-pattern rifles with standard rail adapters, as well as AR-15s, SIG MCX, and other platforms using a 1913 interface. Your rifle needs the adapter already installed for compatibility.
