The MDT XRS is what happens when a chassis stops trying to feel tactical and starts feeling like a rifle you actually want to shoulder. It's built around a full-length CNC-machined core of 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum, then wrapped in high-strength textured polymer panels. That aluminum spine is doing the heavy lifting for accuracy, while the polymer skins keep the weight down and give your hands a warmer, grippier surface than bare metal ever could on a cold morning behind the glass.
The magic here is the CZ 457-specific inlet. It's machined with a V-groove and rear recoil lug slot to bed your barreled action with a stress-free, repeatable fit, which is where the real accuracy gains come from. The barrel free-floats, so you're no longer at the mercy of a wood stock that shifts with humidity and temperature. The generous barrel channel clears everything from a slim sporter profile up to a heavy varmint contour, handling barrels up to 1.25 inches in diameter.
Length of pull runs from 13.25 inches out past 15 inches using the included spacers, and you can stack more if you need extra room. The quick-adjust cheekpiece gives you around 1.5 inches of vertical travel to match your cheek weld to whatever scope height you're running. Both an angled grip and a vertical grip come in the box, and swapping between them takes nothing more than backing out a couple of screws to find the hand position and trigger reach that feels right to you.
The 12-inch forend is loaded with M-LOK slots along the sides and bottom, all kept rock-solid by that aluminum backbone. Add a bipod, hang an ARCA rail for a tripod, or bolt on a Picatinny section for a barricade stop. At roughly 3.9 pounds depending on inlet, it splits the difference nicely between a range gun and something you can carry. Installation is a genuine drop-in job that most folks finish in a couple minutes with a set of Allen wrenches, and MDT supplies the correct-length action screws to get it done. Your rifle's original magazine release lever stays in place.
