The MDT Fuzion Ti Black Titanium action comes out of Lone Peak Arms, the Utah custom action shop MDT brought under its roof, and it carries every bit of that lightweight, tight-tolerance reputation. This particular model (part number 117315DLC) is the short action, right-hand build with a magnum bolt face and a 75-degree bolt throw. The body is machined from 6AL-4V grade titanium and wears a DLC-coated receiver, which adds a hard, low-friction layer that shrugs off weather and wear on long hunts. At right around 21 ounces for the short action, it's built for the folks counting every ounce on the pack-in.
Up top you get an integral split 20 MOA Picatinny rail cut through the Alpine Port, plus an integral recoil lug. Machining those into the receiver instead of bolting them on means fewer parts to work loose under recoil and a rigid, repeatable foundation for your glass. The magazine well is cut for Wyatt BDL boxes, so you can run either a hinged floorplate or a detachable bottom metal setup depending on how you like to feed it.
At the heart of the action is a one-piece fluted 4340 chrome-moly bolt with a nitride finish. Fluting trims reciprocating mass, the mini M-16 style extractor pulls fired cases with authority, and a lightweight firing pin assembly shortens lock time for consistent ignition. The 75-degree throw keeps bolt lift low and gives your scope more clearance, which makes staying on target through the cycle a lot easier. That smooth feel is really what Lone Peak built its name on.
Since it uses the Remington 700 footprint, you've got the widest possible pool of stocks, chassis systems, triggers, and bottom metal to build around. Keep in mind this is a bare action, so you'll be adding your own barrel, trigger, and the rest of the parts to finish the rifle.
