The MDT Fuzion Magnum is a precision bolt action that gives custom rifle builders a serious foundation to work from. Originally a Lone Peak Arms design and now part of the MDT lineup, this action is set up with a magnum bolt face, which opens the door to cartridges like .300 Win Mag, .300 PRC, and the Nosler magnum family. It rides on the familiar Remington 700 footprint, so it drops into the huge ecosystem of stocks, chassis systems, triggers, and bottom metal already out there.
The receiver is machined from pre-hardened 416R stainless steel, which is the material a lot of top-tier custom actions lean on because it holds its dimensions through high round counts and long range sessions. The raceways are cut with wire EDM for tight, repeatable tolerances, and the whole receiver wears a nitride finish that fights rust and wear without building up thickness that would throw off those tolerances. There's an integral 20 MOA Picatinny rail and an integral recoil lug machined right into the body, so you're not relying on separate pieces that can loosen or shift under recoil.
The heart of the action is a one-piece fluted bolt made from 4340 chrome-moly with its own nitride finish. It runs a mini M-16 style extractor and a lightweight firing pin assembly for fast lock time, and the magnum bolt face uses a 75 degree bolt throw for quick cycling and good scope clearance.
