Description
The MDT LSS Gen3 Tactical is a complete chassis kit built around Remington 700 long action rifles, and it's one of the more thought-out platforms MDT has put out. The whole system centers on a chassis base that houses your barreled action, with the forend and buttstock adapter bolting on at either end. That means you can reconfigure the rifle for hunting, tactical work, or general range time without breaking your zero, since the action never leaves the base. Drop your barreled action in, torque it down to the marked specs under the forend, and you're running. No bedding and no gunsmithing.
What Sets the LSS Gen3 Tactical Apart
This kit ships with the pieces already picked out for you. The Tactical Forend carries M-LOK slots on all five faces, so mounting a bipod, sling, light, weights, or a night vision bridge is straightforward. There's an integrated barricade stop up front on the magwell, which comes in handy shooting off props. Up top you get the SCS (Skeleton Carbine Stock), a heavily adjustable buttstock with tool-less length of pull, an adjustable buttpad, and a cheek riser you can move up, forward, back, and even cant. The kit also includes MDT's Elite angled pistol grip, which takes standard AR-15 grips down the road if you want to change it up.
Feeding and Fitment on the Remington 700
The chassis runs standard AICS pattern magazines, so if your donor rifle used a blind or hinged magazine, this converts it over to detachable box mags. An ambidextrous mag release lets you drop mags with your trigger finger. Everything is machined from aluminum with a durable Cerakote finish, and the fit is rock solid with no flex.
Room to Grow With the Tactical Kit
Even though it comes pre-configured, this is still a full LSS Gen3 chassis underneath. Down the road you can swap the forend for a competition ARCA setup, change the grip, or run a different buttstock through the interchangeable adapters. It's a buy-once platform that grows with whatever you're chasing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the LSS Gen3 Tactical require any gunsmithing or bedding to install?
No. You drop your barreled action into the chassis base and torque it down to the marked specs, and you're ready to shoot. There's no bedding required and no need to send anything to a gunsmith.
What magazines does the MDT LSS Gen3 Tactical use?
The chassis is built around standard AICS pattern magazines. If your Remington 700 originally used a blind or hinged magazine, this chassis converts it over to detachable AICS box mags. Note that magazines are sold separately and not included in the kit.
Can I change parts later or am I stuck with this configuration?
You're never locked in. Even though the Tactical comes pre-configured, it's a full LSS Gen3 chassis at its core, so you can swap the forend, grip, or buttstock down the road. Because the barreled action stays in the base, you can reconfigure the rifle without losing your zero.
Will the SCS buttstock work for a left-handed shooter?
The SCS buttstock is highly adjustable and the cheek riser can be flipped to accommodate a lefty. That said, this specific chassis base is the right-handed version, so it's cut for a right-handed Remington 700 action. MDT does offer a dedicated left-handed version if that's what you need.
