The MDT Competitor LSS Gen3 is a pre-configured version of MDT's most modular chassis system, tuned specifically for PRS, NRL, and long-range precision. Instead of piecing together a build from a blank base, you get a complete competition setup that drops your Savage 110 short-action barreled action into a rock-solid aluminum foundation with a Cerakote finish. It arrives right-handed, in black, and ready to run out of the box while still leaving every part open to swap later.
The heart of this kit is the Competition Forend, a flat, wide handguard measuring right around 14.3 inches with a near full-length integrated ARCA rail machined to the Really Right Stuff standard. That flat bottom keeps you planted on barricades and bags, and the ARCA lets you slide a bipod or clamp a tripod in seconds without fumbling for hardware. M-LOK slots run the sides and bottom for weights, bags riders, and accessories, and it's drilled and tapped so you can add the ACC Control Bridge or NV Bridge down the road.
Out back, the SRS-X Lite buttstock gives you an adjustable length of pull to fit your build and shooting position, and the chassis runs an AR-15-compatible vertical grip that you can trade for any AR-style grip you prefer. The V-block aluminum bedding gives your action a consistent, repeatable fit with no bedding compound or gunsmithing required. It feeds from standard AICS-pattern magazines, uses an ambidextrous mag latch, and has an integrated barricade stop built into the front of the magwell.
What sets the Gen3 apart is that the whole platform is built around a center base with interchangeable forends, buttstock interfaces, grips, and buttstocks. Down the road you can swap the forend or stock without pulling your barreled action, so you keep your zero while changing the rifle's purpose. Buy into the Competitor now for match season, and you've still got a chassis you can reconfigure for hunting or a compact build whenever the need comes up.
This particular kit is built for the Savage 110 short-action, right-handed. It drops your existing barreled action right in with the included action screws, so make sure your rifle is a short-action 110 before ordering. Note that MDT has stated 2026 Savage 110 models may not be compatible, so if you have a very new rifle it's worth confirming your action generation first.
No gunsmithing or bedding is required. The chassis uses a V-block aluminum bedding system that gives your action a consistent fit straight out of the box. You'll just need to pull your action from the factory stock and torque it into the chassis using the supplied screws and MDT's marked torque specs.
The Competitor comes pre-configured for precision matches with the wide, flat Competition Forend and its full-length ARCA rail, plus the adjustable SRS-X Lite buttstock. Compared to the Worker or Tactical kits, it's tuned specifically for PRS and NRL-style shooting where barricade stability and quick tripod work matter. You still get a fully modular platform underneath, so nothing is locked in permanently.
The Gen3 chassis runs standard AICS-pattern magazines, and if your rifle used a blind or hinged magazine before, the chassis converts it over to detachable AICS mags. Down the road you can swap the forend, buttstock, or grip without pulling your barreled action, which means you keep your zero while changing the rifle's role. That modularity is the biggest reason folks buy into the LSS Gen3 platform.
