Description
The MDT Tactical LSS Gen3 takes a stock Remington 700 short action and gives it a real backbone. This is the pre-configured Tactical kit, so it shows up ready to build around your barreled action with no bedding and no gunsmithing. You drop the action in, torque it down to the marked specs, and you've got a rigid, repeatable platform that shoots as accurately as your barrel will let it. The whole thing is built on the Gen3 modular base, which is what makes this chassis stand apart from older LSS setups.
What Makes The Tactical LSS Gen3 Different
The headline feature of the Gen3 platform is the ability to swap the forend, buttstock, or grip without ever pulling your barreled action, which means you keep your zero when you reconfigure. Run the Tactical setup for a truck gun or a range day, then swap a forend later if you want to lean into competition or a lighter hunting build. The center body also converts blind and hinged magazine rifles over to standard AICS pattern magazines, and an ambidextrous mag release lets you drop mags with a push of your trigger finger.
Dialing In The Tactical LSS Gen3 Kit
This kit comes with the SCS (Skeleton Carbine Stock) buttstock, which gives you toolless control over length of pull, cheek height, and buttpad position, plus a cheek riser you can move up, fore and aft, and even cant for a proper cheek weld. The Tactical Forend carries M-LOK slots on all five faces for a bipod, sling, light, or weights, along with a top Picatinny section at the muzzle end for optics or night vision. There's a built-in barricade stop on the front of the magwell, and MDT includes their Elite angled AR-style pistol grip with a soft overmold. The chassis accepts standard AR-15 grips too, so that's another easy point of personalization.
With its clean Flat Dark Earth Cerakote finish and 6061 aluminum construction, this is a rugged, no-nonsense upgrade that gives an aging Remington 700 an AR-style feel with bolt-action precision.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Tactical LSS Gen3 require gunsmithing to install on a Remington 700?
No, it's a drop-in fit with no bedding or gunsmithing needed. You pull your barreled action, set it into the chassis, and torque the action screws to the marked specs. If your rifle uses a blind or hinged magazine, the chassis converts it over to standard AICS pattern magazines.
What comes in The Tactical LSS Gen3 kit?
This is a pre-configured kit built on the Gen3 modular base. It includes the chassis base, the Tactical Forend with M-LOK on all five faces and a top Picatinny section, the fully adjustable SCS buttstock on a carbine adapter, and MDT's Elite pistol grip. You supply the barreled action and AICS magazines.
Can I change the forend or buttstock later without losing my zero?
Yes, that's the whole point of the Gen3 platform. You can swap the forend, buttstock, or grip without ever pulling your barreled action, so your zero stays put. That lets you reconfigure the same rifle for tactical, hunting, or competition use down the road.
Will this chassis accept standard AR-15 accessories?
It's built to feel familiar to AR shooters. The chassis accepts AR-15 pattern pistol grips, and the SCS stock rides on a carbine buffer tube adapter so you can run AR-style stocks if you want a different setup. The forend's M-LOK slots and top rail handle bipods, lights, slings, and optics or night vision.
