Description
MDT built the Skeleton Carbine Stock, or SCS, to solve a problem plenty of precision shooters run into: how do you get a fully adjustable stock without hauling around extra ounces? The answer is a skeletonized aluminum body that trims weight where it can while keeping the strength where it counts. This is the 9.75-inch black model with the adjustable cheek riser, and it lands right in that sweet spot between a rock-solid chassis stock and something light enough to carry all day.
The whole point of the SCS is fit, and it delivers on that front. Length of pull adjusts about an inch with a thumbwheel, the buttpad moves vertically 1.5 inches with tool-less adjustment and cants 10 degrees left or right, and the cheek riser gives you another 1.5 inches of height to line up behind glass. The cheek riser also slides forward and back on the buffer tube and can be reversed, so you can tune eye relief and cheek weld to your exact position. Machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum with anodized posts and a Cerakote finish, it holds settings once you lock them down.
How the MDT SCS Dials In Your Fit
Every adjustment on this stock is about repeatability. Set your length of pull, cheek height, and buttpad cant, snug down the set screws, and you've got a position that returns to the same spot every time you shoulder it. Owners consistently praise how solid the adjustments feel and how nice the cheek weld is once it's tuned in.
Mounting and Carry Options on the Skeleton Carbine Stock
You get QD sling attachment points for flexible carry setups, plus an M-LOK slot on the bottom for a bag rider or other accessory. Weight comes in around 1.96 pounds depending on your buffer tube. One thing worth knowing up front: this adjustable cheek riser version is made for MDT chassis systems and bolt-action rifles. If you're running a standard AR-15 or AR-10 with a conventional charging handle, you'll want the non-adjustable foam version unless you've got a side-charging upper.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the MDT Skeleton Carbine Stock work on a standard AR-15?
This adjustable cheek riser version is designed for MDT chassis systems and bolt-action rifles, not standard AR-15 or AR-10 uppers with a conventional charging handle. The cheek riser sits in the path of a standard charging handle, so it won't clear. If you have a side-charging upper it works fine, otherwise MDT offers a non-adjustable foam version for AR builds.
Does the SCS need a special buffer tube?
Yes. The SCS must be used with the custom MDT buffer tube and a standard castle nut, both of which are included. The MDT buffer tube has a scribe mark down the center so you can zero the angle of the stock to your buffer tube during setup.
How much adjustment does the cheek riser and buttpad offer?
The cheek riser gives you 1.5 inches of height adjustment and can slide forward and back on the buffer tube, and it's even reversible. The buttpad adjusts 1.5 inches vertically with tool-less adjustment and cants 10 degrees left or right, while length of pull moves about an inch via the thumbwheel. That range covers a repeatable, custom fit for most shooting positions.
Can I add a bag rider to the Skeleton Carbine Stock?
Yes, there's an M-LOK slot on the bottom of the stock for mounting a bag rider or other accessory. That makes it easy to add a rear support for bench and prone precision work. You also get QD attachment points on the stock for sling setups.
