MDT built the CRBN Hunter Kit for guys who don't want to piece together a hunting rifle setup one part at a time. This kit is specific to the Tikka T3/T3X Long Action in a right hand configuration, and instead of just handing you a chassis and sending you on your way, MDT throws in a bipod, sling, and all the hardware needed to get the whole thing dropped in and shooting the same day it arrives. The Hunter Orange and Grey colorway sets this one apart from the plain black carbon fiber options if you want your rig to stand out a little, or just prefer the look against a stainless or matte finished barrel.
Underneath the carbon fiber shell sits a magnesium micro chassis with V-block bedding, which gives the action a solid, repeatable mounting surface instead of relying on the stock alone. The shell itself is filled with rigid foam, and that fill does double duty: it saves weight and it deadens the harmonic buzz you get from a hollow stock, so the rifle feels calmer coming off the shoulder and it's easier to track your impact through the glass. Bare, the CRBN chassis runs around 27 ounces, and with the hunting bottom metal included in this kit installed, total weight lands close to 30 ounces, which is light for a chassis rifle without sacrificing the stiffness a precision hunting build needs.
Length of pull adjusts from 12.75 inches out to 13.75 inches with quarter inch spacers, so you can account for a heavy coat during late season hunts or a lighter layer earlier on. The pistol grip sits at a 20 degree angle with built in thumb shelves for a more natural hold, and the forend runs a full length integrated ARCA rail with M-LOK slots underneath for a bipod or other accessories. QD cups front and rear make running a sling simple, and the hunting bottom metal that ships with this kit takes AICS pattern magazines with a low profile, lockable latch so it stays put while you're moving through the brush.
Installing the CRBN into your Tikka T3X is a drop-in job. There's no bedding compound or gunsmithing required, just set the barreled action into the chassis and torque down the action screws to spec.

No, this particular model is machined for the Tikka T3/T3X Long Action only. MDT offers a separate short action version of the CRBN Hunter Kit if your rifle is chambered in a short action cartridge.

The Hunting Bottom Metal included with this kit runs AICS pattern magazines and has a low profile, lockable magazine latch. That keeps the mag secure and out of the way while you're carrying the rifle through rough terrain.
