Description
The MDT CRBN Hunter Kit is built for the hunter who wants the rigidity and features of a chassis without the weight penalty that usually comes with one. This version drops in on a Tikka T3x short action, right-hand, and wears MDT's Highland Green and Flat Dark Earth two-tone finish that blends in nicely out in the timber. At its core is a magnesium micro chassis wrapped in a foam-filled carbon fiber shell, which cuts weight dramatically compared to a traditional aluminum chassis while keeping things stiff and consistent shot to shot. The whole stock weighs right around 27 ounces bare, and roughly 30 ounces once you add the included hunting bottom metal.
What Sets the CRBN Hunter Kit Apart
This is a true drop-in setup. You pull your barreled action and bottom metal into place and snug down two screws, and because of the magnesium micro chassis there's no bedding or pillar work required. The foam fill does a nice job soaking up harmonic vibration, giving the rifle a dead, settled feel that helps you spot your own shots and stay on target longer. The barrel channel is cut to clear a Proof Sendero contour, so it plays well with heavier aftermarket barrels.
Dialing In the Fit on Your Tikka T3x
Comfort and repeatability were clearly front of mind here. The comb is quick-adjustable to line your eye up behind glass, and length of pull adjusts a full inch in quarter-inch spacer increments, running from 12.75 to 13.75 inches. Flush QD sling cups sit on both sides, and thumb shelves give your firing hand a natural, consistent reference point.
Field-Ready Mounting and Magazines
The forend carries a full-length integrated ARCA rail plus M-LOK slots underneath, so your bipod, tripod, or support gear mounts fast and indexes the same way every time. The included MDT Hunting bottom metal runs AICS pattern magazines and features a lockable mag latch with a low-profile, anti-snag design so you're not losing a mag in the brush. As a Hunter Kit, it ships ready to build with the chassis, bottom metal, and the hardware you need to get going.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the MDT CRBN Hunter Kit come with bottom metal?
Yes. The Hunter Kit ships with MDT's Hunting bottom metal, which is the flush-fitting, anti-snag option designed for field use. It runs AICS pattern short action magazines and has a lockable mag latch to prevent accidental releases.
Will this chassis fit my Tikka T3x short action rifle?
This model is inlet specifically for the Tikka T3/T3x short action in a right-hand configuration. It works with common T3x short action models like the Lite, Sporter, Superlite, Varmint, and Super Varmint. If your rifle is a long action or left hand, you'll want a different variant.
Do I need to bed the action or install pillars?
No. The CRBN is a true drop-in design thanks to its magnesium micro chassis, so MDT does not require bedding or pillar work. You simply set your barreled action and the bottom metal in place and tighten two screws.
What magazines work with the CRBN Hunter Kit?
The included MDT Hunting bottom metal is built around AICS pattern short action magazines, so you have a wide range of options including MDT polymer and metal mags as well as Magpul AICS mags. Match your magazine to your short action cartridge and you're good to go.
