Description
The MDT LSS Gen3 is the most adaptable chassis MDT has built to date, and this version is inlet specifically for the Ruger American long action in a right-hand configuration. Drop in your barreled action, torque the screws to spec, and you have a modern precision rig with no bedding and no gunsmithing required. The heart of the system is a center base that houses the action, while the forend and buttstock adapter bolt to either end. Because the action never leaves the center base, you can change forends, grips, and stocks down the road without touching your optic zero.
What Sets the LSS Gen3 Tactical Apart
This is the pre-configured Tactical build, so it arrives ready to run rather than as a bare base. It comes dressed with the Tactical forend, which carries M-LOK slots on all five faces plus a top Picatinny section for mounting night vision or thermal alongside your primary optic. There is an integrated barricade stop up front and clearly marked torque values under the forend to make assembly straightforward. The setup carries an AR-15 style feel with bolt-action precision, which is exactly why a lot of folks moving over from black rifles gravitate toward it.
Dialing In the Fit
The Tactical kit uses the Carbine buttstock adapter, letting you run any AR buffer-tube stock, and MDT includes its SCS Skeleton Carbine Stock. That stock gives you toolless control over length of pull, cheek height, and buttpad position, so you can settle in behind the glass in seconds. An angled AR-style Elite pistol grip with a soft overmold rounds out the ergonomics, and the chassis accepts standard AR grips if you want to swap.
Feeding and Everyday Use
The Gen3 converts your Ruger American to run AICS-pattern magazines, so the factory blind or hinged magazine is no longer a limitation. An ambidextrous mag latch drops mags free with a push of the trigger finger, and it also plays nice with the MDT Adjustable Mag Latch. Built rugged and endlessly upgradeable, this is a chassis that handles range work, hunting, or truck-gun duty without complaint.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the LSS Gen3 chassis fit my Ruger American in a long action caliber?
Yes. This chassis is inlet specifically for the Ruger American long action in a right-hand configuration. Just drop in your barreled action, torque the action screws to the marked spec, and you are ready to go with no bedding or gunsmithing.
What magazines does the MDT LSS Gen3 chassis use?
It runs standard AICS-pattern magazines. If your Ruger American came with a blind or hinged magazine, the chassis converts it to accept AICS mags, which opens up a wide range of aftermarket capacity and caliber options.
Can I change the stock, grip, or forend later on?
That is the whole point of the Gen3 platform. The forend, buttstock adapter, and grip all bolt to the center base, so you can swap any of them without pulling the barreled action and without losing your optic zero. It accepts AR-15 style grips and, since the Tactical uses a Carbine adapter, any AR buffer-tube stock.
Is this the bare chassis or a complete kit?
This is the pre-configured Tactical kit, so it arrives dressed out with the Tactical forend, the SCS Skeleton Carbine Stock, and an angled Elite pistol grip. It runs right out of the box but stays fully upgradeable if you want to reconfigure it down the line.
