This is an integrally suppressed short barrel rifle in .300 AAC Blackout, with the DSX-D suppressor designed into the gun from the start. The can uses Maxim's MonoKore single piece baffle design and tucks partially under the handguard, which keeps the whole rifle at 28.125 inches overall despite running a full suppressor over the 8.5 inch threaded barrel.
The 8.5 inch barrel is a sweet spot for .300 Blackout. Subsonic loads get a full powder burn and stay whisper quiet through the DSX-D, while supersonics still bring plenty of punch for hogs or duty work. The suppressor itself has been run through SOCOM test tables across multiple calibers without damage or a meaningful drop in sound reduction, so this is not a range toy can that wilts under a hard schedule. The SDX line grew out of Maxim's work on the SOCOM PDW program, and the materials show it: 6Al-4V titanium, 17-4 stainless steel, and 7075 and 6061 aluminum throughout. You get an M-slot compatible handguard for lights and accessories, an HK height rail that stiffens up the upper, and Maxim's Gen 7 CQB stock that collapses down tight for storage and vehicle work. The Arid Flat Dark Earth Cerakote finish shrugs off weather and holster rash alike, and the whole rifle is made in the USA by an ISO 9001 certified shop.
