Pick it up and you'll notice it immediately: at around 9 pounds, it carries the same heft and balance as the wartime original, which is a big part of the charm.
Underneath the vintage styling is a practical, modern rimfire. The 16.3 inch barrel wears a 1:16 twist with 6 grooves, and the semi-auto action feeds from a 25 round magazine, so you can burn through a brick of ammo without constant reloading. The rear sight is adjustable and pairs with a hooded post up front, just like the original setup, and the trigger is adjustable too, which is a nice touch you don't always get in this category. A manual thumb safety rounds out the controls. Because it's chambered in .22 LR, recoil is basically nonexistent and range time stays cheap, making this a genuinely fun rifle to shoot rather than just something to admire.
