If you run a Gen 1 Magpul UBR or STR stock, you already know the factory QD sling cup sits on the left side. This Sling Mount Kit Type 2 opens up the other side, giving you a second push-button QD point so you can swap shoulders, set up a two-point sling the way you actually carry, or drop in a Magpul QDM without hunting for a workaround. It installs on the opposite side of the stock using the UBR or STR's original hardware, so there's no drilling or guesswork involved.

What the MAG332 Type 2 Kit Adds to Your Build

The socket is machined with a threaded screw hole that accepts the mounting screw from the Type 1 mount on the far side of the stock. It takes industry-standard push-button sling attachments, so you're not locked into one brand of swivel. Whether you're running a Magpul sling, a Blue Force Gear setup, or anything with a standard QD button, this mount plays nice with it.

Steel Build That Holds Up

Magpul made the Type 2 from heavy-duty black phosphatized steel, which is the same rugged, corrosion-resistant material you'd want anchoring a loaded rifle by its sling. This isn't a plastic afterthought. It's a solid, low-profile socket that disappears into the stock line and takes the abuse of daily range time, hunting, or hard training. It's made in the USA, which is what you'd expect from a Magpul steel part.

Going Truly Ambidextrous

Here's the part worth knowing before you order. On the UBR and STR, the Type 2 works on its own with your existing hardware. But if you want ambidextrous QD mounting on other stocks like the SGA, MOE Rifle, MOE Fixed Carbine, MOE AK, Zhukov-S, Hunter 700, or Hunter X-22, you'll need to pair this Type 2 kit with the separate Type 1 kit (MAG333). Also good to know: the Type 2 cannot be used to run dual-side swivels on the ACS or ACS-L stocks. Swivels are sold separately, so grab a QD button to go with it if you don't already have one on hand.
