The Magpul Rail Light Mount RT solves one of the more annoying problems with a rail-mounted light: where do you put it so it works, stays out of the way, and doesn't throw a shadow off your barrel. This mount clamps onto any standard 1913 Picatinny rail and cants your light forward and high at the 1 o'clock position on the right side of the gun. That placement keeps the light close to the bore axis, opens up room for a more forward support hand grip, and cuts down on the barrel shadow that can wash out your beam at close range.
The body is molded from reinforced polymer, so it's tough without adding much weight, and it plays nice with Magpul XTM Enhanced Rail Panels if you're already running that setup. A textured thumb ramp is built right into the mount, giving you a repeatable index point for your hand. That little detail matters more than you'd think when you're trying to find the activation button the same way every single time without looking down.
Magpul took most of the guesswork out of fitment here. The mount ships with a set of anodized aluminum rings that grip light bodies from 0.75 inches up to roughly 1.03 inches in diameter. That range covers SureFire 300 and 600 series Scout Lights, plenty of 1913 Picatinny pistol-style lights, and a lot of the round-body lights sitting in your gear box already. If your light falls in that diameter window, odds are good it drops right in.
This is a right-side, 1 o'clock mount, so make sure that's the orientation you want before ordering, since Magpul also offers an 11 o'clock left-side version. It's a natural fit on AR-15, M4, and M16 style rifles running Picatinny real estate up front.
